The Origin
You can guess that BrewVentures didn't start in a boardroom. It started in the taprooms of Thessaloniki, chatting with local publicans over half-finished pints. When I moved here to support my partner’s career, the discovery of the city’s craft beer scene was natural for a beer geek like me. But I soon realized that most travelers were passing right by it. I saw a "Beer Revolution" happening in the shadows of the ancient walls, and I knew I had to bridge that gap.
The Philosophy: The Logic of the Local
During my journey, most of the best beer I had was unpasteurized, unfiltered, and unapologetically fresh. Because beer is a living product, logistics are the greatest enemy of its sensory elements. This means the best beer you can drink is almost always the one brewed closest to you.
At BrewVentures, we celebrate the "Local." Our mission is to democratize craft beer by stripping away the pretension and focusing on what matters: the quality of the liquid and the stories of the people who brew it and poured it in your glass. Join the revolution, one glass at the time.
The Curator
I am Diego Borges, a certified beer geek (‘Level 2 Award in Beer’ by the Wine and Spirits Education Trust) and a Recognized BJCP Judge with a background in Biomedical Research. My passion for the craft has taken me all the way from South of Brazil to the hidden taprooms of Europe. These adventures taught me that while the setting changes, the pursuit of quality is universal.
I approach beer like an expert, searching for balance, character, and that unmistakable 'pop' of freshness. BrewVentures is the culmination of those travels: bringing a global standard of beer appreciation to the city I now call home.
